An infectious disease, bubonic plague is primarily transmitted through the bites of infected fleas or rodents. The signs and symptoms of plague generally develop between two and seven days after a person acquires the infection. Septicemic plague can occur as the first symptoms of plague, or may develop from untreated bubonic plague. People affected by bubonic plague had swollen lymph nodes in the neck, groin, and armpits.
